He’s Always Been Faithful to Me

April 2, 2014

Isaiah 41:10-13 … Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 “ Behold, all those who were incensed against you
Shall be ashamed and disgraced;
They shall be as nothing,
And those who strive with you shall perish.
12 You shall seek them and not find them—
Those who contended with you.
Those who war against you
Shall be as nothing,
As a nonexistent thing.
13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

May we each feel the power and comfort of God’s hand today! He is faithful to provide what we need!

1 Thessalonians 5:24 … The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.

Strengthened with Hind’s Feet

March 19, 2014

Habakkuk 3:17-19 AMP … Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, 18 Yet I will rejoice  in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

May the Sovereign LORD strengthen us each TODAY, with feet like a hind; Enabling us to rejoice in Him and walk upon our high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

The hind is a female deer, a doe who lives in the mountains. The hind moves in a very precise way. The rear feet step exactly in the footsteps where the front feet have just been; making the hind the most sure-footed of all mountain animals.

Psalm 85:13 AMP … Righteousness shall go before Him and shall make His footsteps a way in which to walk.

1 Samuel 2:9 AMP … He will guard the feet of His godly ones, but the wicked shall be silenced and perish in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Praise You Lord Jesus for making a way. O Sovereign LORD, in the print of Your feet, may my footsteps be.

To Be Like Jesus

February 1, 2014

Luke 6:40A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.

The teacher we follow is poor in spirit, pure in heart, meek, merciful, a peacemaker. Jesus is the embodiment of the Beatitudes. And His followers should be like Him.

Lord Jesus stir my heart to be more and more like You. As I read the below beatitudes, prompt me to yield my heart to Your leading. Thank You that as my heart displays the changes You reveal, I will experience Your joy that even severe persecution can’t destroy!

The Beatitudes Matthew 5:3-12
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 3 You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 4 You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 5 You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. 6 You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. 7 You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 8 You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 9 You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 10 You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.
11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you 11-12 Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Beatitudes: Beautiful Attitudes

My Comfort

December 28, 2013

Psalm 119:76-77 AMP
76 Let, I pray You, Your merciful kindness and steadfast[unfailing] love be for my comfort, according to Your promise to Your servant.
77 Let Your tender mercy[compassion] and loving-kindness come to me that I may live, for Your law is my delight!

unfailing love[02617] = goodness, kindness, faithfulness, loyal love

tender mercy[07356] = compassion

Confidence in Christ

December 28, 2013

1 John 5:14 AMP … And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

1 John 3:21-24 NASB … Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.

23 This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Jeremiah 17:7 AMP … [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

Thank You Father that Your blessing is on the one who believes in, trusts in and relies on Your son Jesus Christ. I pray that You would give me a confident heart in Jesus Christ my Lord. Help me to do what is pleasing in Your sight. Amen.

Lord we don’t know what the future holds. Help me to place my hope and confidence in You, Jesus Christ my Lord. Help me to follow Your lead. Thank You that as I do this I will be blessed.

My Deliverance

November 29, 2013

From Verse of the Day

…I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Paul is possibly facing death. Yet he knows that his life, his future, is securely in the Lord’s hands. The Holy Spirit will help empower him to be what he needs to be in the face of persecution and hardship. The Spirit will also work for his deliverance; either he will be delivered from prison and death to serve others, or he will be delivered into the presence of the Lord he loves. Either way, he awaits and expects deliverance!

My Prayer…

O LORD, God Almighty, please give me the courage to never waiver in my confidence in your deliverance. In addition, dear Father, I have several beloved friends who are fighting for their lives with physical problems. Please bless them with your deliverance, whether it is your healing that restores their health or your grace that insures their future is with you and your triumphant Son, Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.

Trust in the Lord’s Faithfulness

November 13, 2013

Matthew 6:28-31 NKJV … Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 29 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Psalm 89:8 AMP … O Lord God of hosts, who is a mighty one like unto You, O Lord? And Your faithfulness is round about You [an essential part of You at all times]. -Ps89:8 AMP

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your great faithfulness. Help me to remember that Your eye is on the sparrow and that You care for me. Praise You that Your faithfulness is an essential part of who You are at ALL times!

Small Faith Moves Mountains

November 10, 2013

Matthew 17:20 NKJV… So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Luke 17:5-6 … The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Thank You Lord Jesus that if we believe in You, nothing is impossible! Help me to remember that even with a small amount of faith in You, the impossible becomes possible.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. -Eph 3:20-21

Thank You Lord Jesus that faith in You, even as small as a mustard seed, is enough to move mountains and do the impossible!

Joy in Jesus Outshines

October 30, 2013

Psalm 92:4 NASB … For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.

Psalm 5:11 NIV … Let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your covering and protection. Thank You for the joy of knowing and trusting You. Praise You, that this joy out shines any trial or difficulty of this life!

Peace Be Still!

October 13, 2013

Psalm 89:9 AMP … You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves arise, You still them.

Psalm 107:29 AMP … He hushes the storm to a calm and to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea are still.

Mark 4:39 NKJV … Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:39 AMP … And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness).

Jesus in the midst of the storm help us to call Your name and listen for Your voice- “Peace Be Still”! Thank You Lord Jesus that at the sound of Your voice even the raging sea is hushed. Today, still our hearts to experience Your perfect peace.

When shadows fall
And thunders roar
I will run to the One I know
He rules the raging sea
Jesus, my ever present help speaks
“Peace Be Still!”
Midst any storm.
