My Impenetrable Shield

October 3, 2009 by khollandsblog

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.

Thank You Lord that You are my strength, my Rock, a firm place to stand. Praise be to my Rock!

Lord Jesus, draw me, hide me, still my soul; Shelter me beneath Your mighty wings; You are my impenetrable shield. My heart trusts in, relies on and expectantly waits for You; I am helped, compassed about with Your mercy and loving-kindness. Covered with Your feathers.

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. … He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. -Ps 91:2,4

From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. -Ps 61:2-3

Incline Your ear, LORD, hear my cry. Lift me up from the miry clay. Set my feet upon the immovable, unshakeable Rock. There my heart rejoices and sings Your praise. Surround me Lord with songs of deliverance.

Help me Lord, hear my cry, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. You are my hiding place, my impenetrable shield.

The LORD Jesus lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

I WAITED patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord. -Ps 40:1-3

You are a hiding place for me; You, Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! … he who trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about with mercy and with loving-kindness. -Ps 32:7, 10

O Lord, be gracious to us; we have waited [expectantly] for You. Be the arm [of Your servants--their strength and defense] every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble. -Isa 33:2

Stand Perfect, Fully Assured and Complete

September 3, 2009 by khollandsblog

May you stand perfect
… firm, immovable, fixed, enduring,
… established of steadfast and sound mind
And fully assured
… complete, lacking nothing, finished, fully mature
In all the will of God. — Col 4:12

May you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast,
and not be moved away from the hope, love and
truth of the gospel that you have heard. — Col 1:23

Stand firm then HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH and PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS … –Eph 6:14

May your love of the truth never grow cold!

May you overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony! -Rev 12:11

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind thru Christ Jesus. -Phil 4:7

Psalm 60:4-5
You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed
because of the truth, that Your beloved may be delivered,
save with Your right hand, and hear me.

Matthew 7:25
And the rain descended and the floods came and the wind blew,
and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall,
for it had been founded upon the rock.

Matthew 24:11-13
Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because
lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who
endures{perseveres} to the end shall be saved.

Philippians 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy––meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Carried

July 23, 2009 by khollandsblog

For all those needing to be carried this day.

Lord Jesus, help all those needing to be carried this day to know and trust You, You alone. Help each humble themselves before You and wait on Your timing. Let each rest secure in the ‘hollow of Your mighty hand’ KNOWING that You will lift them up in due time. Remind each that it’s by Your hand that the waters and dust are measured, the heavens marked off, and the mountains weighed. For You are the Sovereign LORD and NOTHING is too hard or impossible for You! Lord Jesus help each humble themselves before You and ‘be still’. Thank You that they will see You fight for them and they will be lifted up!

1 Peter 5:5-6    All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.

Isaiah 40:11-12   He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

Isaiah 46:4    Even to your old age I am He, and even to hair white with age will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry and will save you.

As the Dew

July 22, 2009 by khollandsblog

Lamentations 3:22-24   Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.”

RoseTearsSp

As the dew settles on the rose in the morning
Let the sweet fragrance of the Lord saturate your soul
May His unfailing love gently satisfy you as you wait on Him
Be made new
May His favor and joy rest upon you establishing the work of your hands
Yes, establish the work of your hands.

Psalm 90:14-17   Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May Your deeds be shown to Your servants, Your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.

Make Music in Your Heart

July 22, 2009 by khollandsblog

Isaiah 26:3     You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

Proverbs 22:17-19     Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge. For it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the LORD.

Lord Jesus, help keep our minds stayed on You. Help us to listen and receive Your words; to treasure them in our hearts. Thank You Lord that as we mediate on Your words there will be music in our hearts and Your words will be ever ready on our lips.

O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise! –Ps 51:15

Keep us in Your perfect peace Lord. Let the peace of God which passes all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 19:14     May the words of my mouth and the *meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Ephesians 5:18-20     … be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor
Karen Holland … 12-24-2007

When the storms rage, and the winds blow
When the waves are high
When our very hearts are shaken
And our strength and courage seem to melt away

Remember the One and Only

The One who the wind and waves obey
The Lord Most High who can calm any storm

He speaks!
“Peace! Be Still!”

Remember — there is NO storm that the Prince of Peace can not calm!

Psalm 107:25-31     He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits’ end. They cried out to the Lord in their distress; He delivered them from their troubles. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor! Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men!

Mark 4:39     Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Lord, thank that You can calm any storm, both those around us and those within. Lord, speak to our storms, speak ‘Peace Be Still’. Hush our emotions, dispel confusion and fear, quiet our souls, that we may clearly hear Your voice and be led by Your Spirit. Help us to walk in the Spirit and keep in step. Help us to be still and know you are God!Thank You Lord for the blessing of Your stillness, Your peace — thank You that You are the Prince of Peace. Lead us into Your safe harbor.

Persist

July 22, 2009 by khollandsblog

Luke 18:1     One day Jesus told his disciples a story to illustrate their need for constant prayer and to show them that they must never give up!

By God’s hand a wildflower can persist and come up in an infinitesimal crack in the concrete. We also by His hand, can come up from the depths of what seem like impossible circumstances and bloom through the concrete of the hardest times, if we persist in prayer and don’t give up!

Lord help us never to give up, Your calling, Your vision, or Your promises. Help us to boldly trust in You, no matter what. Help us to wait on Your timing. Thank You, Lord Jesus that Your timing is perfect – never too early and never too late! Strengthen us to endure with patience and joy, to stand firm and continue to do God’s will!

Hebrews 10:35-37 (NLT)     So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.

Habakkuk 2:3     For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it. For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

His Eye is on the Sparrow

July 13, 2009 by khollandsblog

Luke 12:6-7; Matthew 10-29-31
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?
Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Thank You Lord for Your love and care; that we are ever in Your watchful gaze. Thank You that each of us is so important to You that You have numbered every hair. Let this truth sink deep into our hearts. Help us each always come to You with everything in prayer. Thank You that as we each do this, You will guard our hearts and minds in the Lord Jesus Christ and we will know the peace of Christ that passes all understanding.

Philippians 4:6-7    Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

He Sends His Word

July 9, 2009 by khollandsblog

Psalm 147:18     He sends His word and melts them; He stirs up His
breezes, and the waters flow.

Lord Jesus please send Your living word into the situations we are waiting on Your timing for. Thank You Lord that it will not return void. Melt hearts and stir up Your breezes, release a demonstration of Your Power, Lord. Thank You that Your living waters will flow into these situations and hearts will be turned bringing new life. Send Your Living word, Lord Jesus, thank You that Your word runs very swiftly.

Psalm 147:15   He sends forth His commandment to the earth; His word
runs very swiftly.

Darkness into Light!

June 2, 2009 by khollandsblog

2 Corinthians 4:6-7   For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

Psalm 18:28    You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

Thank You Lord that You are our lamp, You turn our darkness into light, the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. Clothe each of us with Your light. Let the light of your face shine upon each of us, O LORD. Thank You that as each trusts in You, the light of Christ will shine thru our lives and touch others. Help each of us share this light. Thank You that You fill our hearts with the joy of Christ.

Psalm 4:5-7      Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD. Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?” Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
