Author and Finisher

July 9, 2015

Hebrews 12:1-2 AMP
1 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, 2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Philippians 1:6 AMP
6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Psalm 40:1-2 AMP
1 I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings.
.

TODAY whatever you are facing, may you be reminded to fix your eyes on Jesus. Wait expectantly on Him and follow His lead. Jesus the Author and Finisher of your faith will establish you on firm ground!

Praise You Lord Jesus – You are able and faithful to finish what You start!

.

Lord Jesus, it’s so easy to become distracted, help me to keep my focus on You the Author and Finisher of my faith!

.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 AMP
23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 24 Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].
.

Lord, when I feel discouraged, help me to remember Jesus the Author and Finisher of my faith. Let my weakness turn my eyes from self to Christ. Help me to remember His faithfulness, He is more than able to finish what He began in me.

Wait Upon the Lord!

September 21, 2013

From: 365 Promises- 264

QUOTE:
In today’s promise, we read that if we wait on the Lord, He will renew our strength. When we choose to humble ourselves before Almighty God and acknowledge that it is His will and direction that we are looking for, we are positioning ourselves to wait for Him to give us the guidance we are looking for. When we wait on Him, we are honoring Him and choosing not to ‘lean to our own understanding’ as mentioned in Proverbs 3:5-6.

Isaiah 40:31 AMP … But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Praise You Lord Jesus, You are trustworthy and faithful! Help me to humble myself before You, acknowledge You in all my ways and wait for Your direction. Thank You that as I do this You will draw me close and my strength will be renewed.

Psalm 32:8 AMP … I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.

Psalm 33:18-19 AMP … Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe], who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness, To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

May your strength be renewed as you wait upon the Lord Jesus. Expect, look for and hope in Him, TODAY!

Strength for the Faint and Weary

June 12, 2013

Isaiah 40:29-31 AMP … He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for{trust} the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Strength for the Faint and Weary

TrustInTheLord

Comes with Trust In The Lord!

.

Praise You Lord Jesus, You increase strength and give power to the faint and weary who trust in You! Help me to wait on Your lead and timing in complete confidence. Thank You that as I trust You, You will help me continue to walk with You and not grow faint.

God’s Promises are TRUE!

January 30, 2013

God never made a promise that was too good to be true! –Dwight L. Moody

His word will not return void!

God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? -Nu23:19

For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes

in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God. -2Co1:20

So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. -Is55:11

Praise You Lord Jesus, all promises of God find their yes in You. Help me to believe and act on Your promises. Let my faith and patience glorify You, my Lord Jesus Christ!

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. -He 6:11-12

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. -1Pe 1:6-7

Help and Shield

August 7, 2012

Psalm 33:20-22Our soul waits[in hope] for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in[rely on] His holy name. Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

Psalm 115:11All you who [reverently]fear the LORD, trust[& lean on] the LORD! He is your helper; He is your shield.

Psalm 3:3 You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Praise You Lord Jesus, You are our help and shield. Help us to trust, lean and rely on You. Thank You that as we each do this we will be helped. Let Your gory be evident in each life as You lift our heads in Your mighty name Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 33:22 NET … May we experience Your faithfulness, O Lord, for we wait[in hope] for You.

Lamentations 3:25The LORD is good to those who wait[in hope] for Him, to the soul who [diligently]seeks Him.

Wait expectantly in hope for the LORD. Trust Him and He will be your help and shield. You will experience His faithfulness. The LORD will lift up your head!

Rest in Christ Jesus

September 22, 2011

Psalm 37:3{Fret not!}Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV … Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Father, when I start to ‘fret’ or become anxious help me to remember to feed on Your faithfulness. Thank You that as I come to You in prayer with thanksgiving, Your peace will guard my heart and mind thru Christ Jesus, Your son. Thanks be to God that this peace beyond understanding helps me to rest in Christ Jesus and wait patiently for Him!

My Impenetrable Shield

October 3, 2009

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.

Thank You Lord that You are my strength, my Rock, a firm place to stand. Praise be to my Rock!

Lord Jesus, draw me, hide me, still my soul; Shelter me beneath Your mighty wings; You are my impenetrable shield. My heart trusts in, relies on and expectantly waits for You; I am helped, compassed about with Your mercy and loving-kindness. Covered with Your feathers.

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. … He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. -Ps 91:2,4

From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. -Ps 61:2-3

Incline Your ear, LORD, hear my cry. Lift me up from the miry clay. Set my feet upon the immovable, unshakeable Rock. There my heart rejoices and sings Your praise. Surround me Lord with songs of deliverance.

Help me Lord, hear my cry, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. You are my hiding place, my impenetrable shield.

The LORD Jesus lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

I WAITED patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord. -Ps 40:1-3

You are a hiding place for me; You, Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! … he who trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about with mercy and with loving-kindness. -Ps 32:7, 10

O Lord, be gracious to us; we have waited [expectantly] for You. Be the arm [of Your servants–their strength and defense] every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble. -Isa 33:2
