Peaceful Restful Sleep

Psalm 4:8 AMPC … In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

From NetBible Ps 4:8

=> Psalm 3:3-4 AMPC … But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4 With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Having trouble sleeping? Before you sleep – cry out and ask the Lord for an assuring word => then sleep comes with peaceful rest ….

Also notice and trust that He is the shield – protection about you as you sleep – thank Him for this before you sleep.

Lord, thank You that You hear and answer us when we cry out to You. Thank You that You are the shield of protection around us as we sleep and as we wake. Thank You for Your assuring word, it brings life, healing and rest. Help us ask for this assuring word when we are in need of peaceful, restful sleep. Thank You that Your assuring word will bring us peaceful, restful sleep. Thank You that You alone can give this, the gift of sweet refreshing sleep. In Jesus name. Amen.

Proverbs 3:24 AMPC … When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

Beside Still Waters

June 1, 2014

Psalm 23:1-3 AMP … THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my life (my self);

Beside still waters
From Barnes’ Notes on the Bible
He leadeth me beside the still waters – Margin, “waters of quietness.” Not stagnant waters, but waters not tempestuous and stormy; waters so calm, gentle, and still, as to suggest the idea of repose, and such as prompt to repose. As applied to the people of God, this denotes the calmness – the peace – the repose of the soul, when salvation flows as in a gently running stream; when there is no apprehension of want; when the heart is at; peace with God.
From  NetBible Ps 23:2
still waters = waters of quietness, peaceful streams, refreshing waters => refreshment from God who is the source of living waters -Jer2:13
He[The Good Shepherd] restores: breathes refreshment and new life into my soul!

From NetBible Ps 23:3
NKJ  He restores my soul
NLT  He renews my strength
BBE  He gives new life to my soul
AMP He refreshes and restores my life (my self)

  • restores[07725] = to bring back, to restore, refresh, repair
  • soul[05315] = life, person, mind, living being
*from [05314] = to take breath, refresh oneself
Revelation 7:17 AMP … For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life{living waters}; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

From NetBible Rev 7:17
living[2198] = to live, breathe, be among the living

May the Good Shepherd who is also the Lamb, continue to lead you beside still waters where every tear is wiped away. There, may our Lord Jesus Christ breathe new life into your soul. Be restored TODAY!

Isaiah 48:17-18 NIV …This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. 18 If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Peace like a river flows when you follow His lead.

May the Good Shepherd who is also the Lamb, continue to lead you beside still waters where every tear is wiped away. There, taste and SEE that the Lord is good! May you experience the peace of the Lord in a fresh new way TODAY! A peace that restores your soul.

Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you.

I will call on Your name
For there’s always a way
When You lead me
And when life knocks me down
I am not counted out
For You’re with me
And You’re with me

I know mountains can move
I’ve seen what You can do
In my weakness
So my heart will believe
If I wait I will see
My God doing, what only He can do

Even when it feels like the light is fading
And I’ve lost my way
Still I’m holding on to the One who’s making
All things possible

Even when it feels like my heart is breaking
Hold on, there is strength
Knowing I belong to the One who’s making
All things possible

My God is strong and mighty
My God is faithful
My hope is in the Lord
For He is able

All Things are Possible – He is able!{prayer}

I AM the LORD Who Heals

October 10, 2012

James 5:15-16 AMP … And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

When we confess we are forgiven and are purified from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) making our prayers for healing powerful and dynamic in working.

Praise You Lord Jesus for these promises that the earnest heartfelt prayer of the righteous is dynamic in it’s working and that the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. Please restore _______ to the good health that is Your’s alone to give. Let his/her testimony of Your very present grace, comfort and healing shine! Let all know that You, our LORD Jesus Christ are a very present help – You are the Lord who heals!

Psalm 46:1 … God is our refuge and strength, a very ever-present help in trouble!

Exodus 15:26 … If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.
