Psalm 92:10 AMPC …  But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.

  • * The horn of the wild ox is frequently a metaphor for military strength; the idiom “to exalt/lift up the horn” signifies military victory
  • horn[07161] = strength, flask of oil, shining light

Strength in Weakness

November 12, 2016

Lord Jesus, help me turn to You for strength in my weakness, rest for my weariness, and faith in my doubt.

Isaiah 40:29-31 AMPC … He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for{trust} the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Open Wide Your Mouth!

December 31, 2015

Psalm 81:10 NLT … For it was I, the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.

Think about baby birds. When they are ready to eat, they open their mouths wide. They trust that they will be fed. They look and long for it. They expect it.

We should be the same. We need to keep our spiritual mouths open and expect the goodness of God to fill and satisfy us.

Psalm 119:131 NLT … I open my mouth, panting expectantly, longing for Your commands.

Long for and pant expectantly after the Lord’s commands
To be pleasing in His sight –Eph 5:8-10;He 11:6;Ro 12:1-2, 8:8

Lord, I open my mouth, panting expectantly, longing for Your commands. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. –Ps 119:131;Ps 19:14

#ScripturePrayer I open my mouth wide-ThankU LORD that U fill it with good things/food to renew my strength! #PRAISE

Serenity Prayer

July 4, 2014

Psalm 29:11 AMP
11 The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

The Serenity Prayer -Reinhold Niebuhr

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.

W.W. Bartley

For every ailment under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none;
If there be one, try to find it;
If there be none, never mind it.

Friedrich Schiller

Blessed is he, who has learned to bear what he cannot change, and to give up with dignity, what he cannot save.

Dan Brown

God, grant me strength to accept those things I cannot change.

Thank You Lord Jesus that You give unyielding and impenetrable strength to Your people. Thank You that as I surrender those things that I can not change to You, I will be blessed with Your peace – a peace beyond my understanding.

Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Thank You Lord Jesus that You have an answer to anything that I am facing. Guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus as I seek Your wisdom. Give me the courage to follow Your lead and do those things that You show me.

Philippians 4:8-9 NKJV
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

No Other Rock

June 18, 2014

Isaiah 44:6-8 AMP
6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.
7 Who is like Me? Let him [stand and] proclaim it, declare it, and set [his proofs] in order before Me, since I made and established the people of antiquity. [Who has announced from of old] the things that are coming? Then let them declare yet future things.
8 Fear not, nor be afraid [in the coming violent upheavals]; have I not told it to you from of old and declared it? And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no [other] Rock; I know not any.

Praise You Lord Jesus – You are the first and You are the last. You are almighty! Help me to be a witness to the fact that there is no other Rock but You. Help me to say with full assurance, “I know not one”!

Psalm 18:1-3 NIV
For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:

1 I love you, Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I have been saved from my enemies.

Praise You Lord Jesus, You are my Rock! I love You, O Lord, my strength. You alone are my strength, my Rock, a firm place to stand. You alone are worthy of all my praise. Praise be to my Rock!

Psalm 28:7 AMP
7 The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.

Isaiah 26:4 AMP
4 So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

Not By Might

June 16, 2014

Zechariah 4:6 AMP
6 Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.

Philippians 4:13 AMP
13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

Psalm 71:16 AMP
16 I will come{go} in the strength and with the mighty acts of the Lord God; I will mention and praise Your righteousness, even Yours alone.

Thank You Lord Jesus that it all depends on Your strength and might and not mine. Help me to rely on Your strength. Help me to be empowered by Your Holy Spirit in all I do. Amen.

Strengthened with Hind’s Feet

March 19, 2014

Image from

Habakkuk 3:17-19 AMP … Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, 18 Yet I will rejoice  in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

May the Sovereign LORD strengthen us each TODAY, with feet like a hind; Enabling us to rejoice in Him and walk upon our high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

The hind is a female deer, a doe who lives in the mountains. The hind moves in a very precise way. The rear feet step exactly in the footsteps where the front feet have just been; making the hind the most sure-footed of all mountain animals.

Psalm 85:13 AMP … Righteousness shall go before Him and shall make His footsteps a way in which to walk.

1 Samuel 2:9 AMP … He will guard the feet of His godly ones, but the wicked shall be silenced and perish in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Praise You Lord Jesus for making a way. O Sovereign LORD, in the print of Your feet, may my footsteps be.
