Shape Your Worries Into Prayers and Praise

December 8, 2012

Philippians 4:6-7

  • NIV … Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • AMP … Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
  • MSG … Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Lord, next tine I catch myself fretting or worrying help me to remember to shape these worries into prayers and praise. Thank You Lord Jesus that as I turn to You and do this, worry will be displaced and I will experience God’s peace.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! -2Cor 9:15

#ScripturePrayer Lord Jesus, help me to interrupt anxiety & worry with gratitude!=> worry does not take away tomorrow’s problems, it only takes away today’s peace & strength.
