Not Forgotten

Matthew 10:29-31 … Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Luke 12:6-7Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Two sparrows are sold for a penny.

Five sparrows are sold for two pennies.

The fifth sparrow doesn’t seem to count, it’s thrown in for free.

Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by the Lord.
So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
You are not forgotten.

Lord when I feel as if I don’t count, help me to remember the fifth sparrow. Thank You Lord that You see the fifth sparrow and You see me. Help me to not be afraid. Help me to trust that You, Lord, who cares for even the fifth sparrow, cares even more for me.

The One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.

    I don’t know about tomorrow,
Or the path that lies ahead.

    So I’ll trust in Jesus
For He know what is ahead.

He’s the One who holds tomorrow
    He also holds my hand.

He clothes the lilies of the field.
He feeds the birds in the sky.
And he will feed those who trust him,
And guide them with His eye.
